Tesla Factory Engineer Assaulted by Robot: Shocking Incident Leaves Worker Injured
In Tesla’s factory in Austin, Texas, a robot designed to dismantle parts of aluminum cars attacked and physically assaulted a software engineer. Initially, the robot pushed the engineer aside and then aggressively struck him with its arm and shoulders. Consequently, the engineer suffered injuries and burns due to molten metal. This incident, although occurring two years ago, was disclosed in the 2021 injury report. It was revealed that Tesla had developed three robots capable of copying hot aluminum components of cars, programmed by a software engineer. The incident took place when two robots were kept inactive side by side, but the third robot, mistakenly left active, initiated the attack. Tesla has denied making any comments regarding this incident.
High Injury Rate in Gigafactory Texas Revealed by OSHA
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has raised concerns over the high injury rate in Tesla’s Gigafactory in Texas. The injury rate in the automotive industry has seen a significant rise, with approximately one worker getting injured for every 21 workers. In the automotive manufacturing sector, the injury rate for one in every 30 workers has increased compared to the previous year.

Former and current employees of Tesla have criticized the company for prioritizing solutions in constructions, operations, and maintenance and putting employees at risk. It has been reported that in 2022, an aluminum casting tank exploded, causing injuries to some employees. Although Tesla has been accused of concealing injury reports globally and facing opposition from employees, the recent disclosure has raised concerns globally, highlighting the potential dangers of robots attacking humans.
