Starlink’s Approval Status: Letter of Intent Expected Soon
Sources from ET Telecom suggest that Starlink, having responded to DPIIT, may receive a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) either by Wednesday or towards the end of this month.
A monetary control report aligns with these expectations, stating that the Department of Telecommunications is likely to issue the LoI to Starlink on Wednesday.
Upon receiving approval, the satellite communications wing is anticipated to grant its approval to Starlink as well. Both ET Telecom and Moneycontrol reports indicate that the department is in the process of preparing the approval letter, expected to be reviewed by Telecom Secretary Neeraj Mittal and Communications Secretary Ashwini Vaishnav by the following week.
