Government Issues Advisory for AI Companies: Approval Required for Under-Testing AI Tools
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) has advised tech companies to obtain approval before using AI tools, which are currently under testing. According to the advisory issued on March 1, all companies will need to provide information to the government about the output generated from these tools. This recommendation will also be applicable to platforms that help users generate deepfake content. Companies are required to submit reports on the implementation of these recommendations within 15 days. However, the order will not be implemented on startups. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar also stated that ensuring the integrity of the election process during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections is the primary reason behind issuing this advisory.

He has been accused of implementing policies that some critics consider fascist. These accusations are based on the BJP’s Hindu nationalist ideology, suppression of dissent, and the use of violence on many occasions.”
A week ago, Rajeev Chandrasekhar warned Google. Earlier on February 23, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar warned Google India about the reactions generated by Jeminin AI regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that Google has violated the IT Act’s provisions and the Criminal Code. Rajeev Chandrasekhar wrote on social media that following this, the government has issued advisories for tech companies.
