Elon Musk Introduces New Feature: Users Can Now Dislike Replies on X Posts

Elon Musk and the New Downvote Feature on X (Formerly Twitter)

Elon Musk and his social media platform X are frequently in the news, often due to controversial statements or new feature testing. Recently, X has been experimenting with a new feature called Downvote.

How Will the New Feature Work?

X is reportedly testing a way for users to rank replies, similar to a downvote or dislike function. According to information from a user post, this feature may first be available on the iOS app and will only apply to replies.

The discussion about this feature has been ongoing for some time, and it seems that its launch is finally imminent.

Difference from Reddit’s Downvote

This new feature, referred to as a “dislike” button, will not function the same way as Reddit’s downvote icon. TechCrunch recently reported that a broken heart icon was found near the ‘like’ button in the beta version of X’s iOS app, indicating the presence of the dislike button code.

The idea of this feature has been around since Elon Musk acquired X in 2021, and it has now gained more traction as development progresses.
