Flipkart Co-founder Binny Bansal Set to Launch Global AI Startup with Bengaluru Hub and Singapore HQ
Flipkart’s co-founder, Binny Bansal, is preparing to launch a global AI startup. For this venture, he has assembled a team of 15 people, many of whom are scientists. Plans are in place to hire more employees in the coming months. According to Bloomberg sources, the startup’s initial operating center will be in Bengaluru, while the headquarters will be in Singapore. Through this AI startup, Binny Bansal aims to provide AI products and services to corporate clients, including Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys.
This initiative indicates Binny Bansal’s continued interest in the technology and startup space, following his previous involvement with Flipkart, one of India’s largest e-commerce companies. AI technology has been gaining traction worldwide, and the new startup will likely aim to leverage AI for various applications, including serving corporate clients in their AI-related needs.
Flipkart had its beginnings in a two-bedroom apartment in Bengaluru, India. It was founded by Binny Bansal, a former student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and his friend Sachin Bansal in 2007. Flipkart started as an online platform to sell books.
In 2018, Binny Bansal sold the majority of his stake in Flipkart to Walmart for a substantial amount, approximately $16 billion. Despite the sale, he remained on Flipkart’s board and continued to be involved with the company. Furthermore, he invested in various tech startups and became known for his contributions to the Indian tech ecosystem.
Binny Bansal’s entrepreneurial journey, from launching Flipkart in a small apartment to being a prominent figure in India’s technology industry, serves as an inspirational story in the startup world.
Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, recently unveiled an AI chatbot named ‘Grok.’ As of now, Grok’s services are available to a limited audience, specifically those who are part of the testing phase.
After launching the service, Musk stated, “Starting from the initial beta test and then coming out of beta, xAI’s Grok system will be available to all X Premium + customers.” Grok has access to xAI’s real-time platform, which offers advantages over other models. Further details or guidance about Grok’s capabilities have not been disclosed. The chatbot’s role and functionalities are still relatively obscure at this stage.
Currently, there are Two major AI Companies:
- ChatGPT
- Google’s BERT
Both ChatGPT and BERT can answer a wide range of questions. You can interact with ChatGPT and Bard by asking questions, seeking advice on various topics, or even getting assistance with tasks. Whether it’s drafting emails, providing tips on making your video go viral, or giving suggestions on how to plan a surprise for your wife, these AI models are capable of offering guidance and answers to your queries. For example, if a student needs to write an essay on democracy, they can type “Write an essay on democracy” using ChatGPT to generate relevant content.
