Former NITI Aayog CEO: AI Revolutionizing News Consumption
Recognizing the benefits of AI, the government is actively addressing its challenges as well. I believe we shouldn’t fear this change but rather embrace its full utilization. It’s certain that AI will reshape and transform our lives profoundly. What we consider ordinary will be redefined and explained in new ways.
IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated this at the DPAI Conclave and Awards 2024. He emphasized the need to responsibly manage AI platforms to ensure their safety and trustworthiness. Whether you’re a U.S. or Indian company, or a small or large organization, ensuring the safety and reliability of what you offer to consumers is essential.
We must take responsibility for AI platforms to ensure their safety and trustworthiness. Whether you’re a U.S. or Indian company, or a small or large organization, ensuring the safety and reliability of what you offer to consumers is essential.
AI will play a significant role in completely digitizing the consumption of news, according to former CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant. He believes that AI will have a major role to play in the world’s largest number of uploads and in completely digitizing the consumption of news.
Speaking at the Storyboard18 DPAI Conclave and Awards 2024, Kant said, “I can access real-time news. By the next day, news in the newspapers becomes outdated, it’s already passe.
“At night, there are many other things happening around the world that you want to know about, which aren’t in the newspapers. That’s why we are adding an internet user every three seconds. We’ve made a big difference.”
Media outlets need to adopt new models to increase revenue, according to Kant, who also published that technological advancements have impacted the news industry. He emphasized the necessity for media outlets to adopt new models to expand their reach.
Kant mentioned that news content will be available in local languages through AI and generative AI. He believes that AI and generative AI will play a crucial role in delivering news content to diverse audiences and creating an inclusive news environment.
He provided an example of AI-based translation tools that translate languages in real-time. These tools break down language barriers. AI and generative AI will bring about significant changes in the world of news.
They are not dealing with the issues they need to deal with. The media secretary, S. Krishna, also spoke about AI and its impact on the Digital India Act. He said, “People are now becoming aware of the risks of AI. We don’t feel that they are dealing with the issues they need to deal with.”
The Digital India Act is under development, and no final version has been reached yet. The Media Secretary stated that the Digital India Act is still being developed. Currently, any version of this legislation in force is not final. Krishna also believes that the use of AI will lean towards increasing productivity rather than hindering it.
