Vivo V40 Series Launched at an Initial Price of ₹39,999: Vivo V40 Pro with 50MP Triple Camera, MD 9200+ Processor, and 6.78″ Curved Display

Chinese tech company Vivo has launched the Vivo V40 smartphone series in India today. The series includes two models: the Vivo V40 and the Vivo V40 Pro. These smartphones come equipped with an 80W fast-charging support and a 5500mAh battery. The company claims that the Vivo series is the thinnest smartphone in this battery capacity segment.

Additionally, the smartphones feature a 50-megapixel ZEISS telephoto portrait camera. ZEISS cameras are renowned for their high-quality craftsmanship and superior light intensity. This camera includes features such as standard autofocus lenses and manual focus options.

The smartphone is launched in three color options – Ganges Blue, Lotus Purple and Titanium Grey

Design, Storage, and Color Options

Both smartphones in the Vivo V40 series feature a similar design, including an aura light ring around the camera. The base version of the Vivo V40 is available in three color options: Ganges Blue, Lotus Purple, and Titanium Gray. 

In contrast, the Vivo V40 Pro is offered in two color choices: Ganges Blue and Titanium Gray. The starting price for the base variant of the smartphone is ₹39,000.

Water and Dust Resistance

Both smartphones in the Vivo V40 series are IP68 certified. This certification indicates that the smartphones offer excellent protection against dust and water. 

The company claims that these smartphones can withstand water effects for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters.

Display: Both Vivo V40 smartphones feature a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness is 2,800 nits, and the resolution is 1260×2800 pixels.

Camera: The smartphones come with a triple camera setup on the rear panel, consisting of 50MP + 50MP + 50MP lenses. For selfies and video calling, there is a 50MP front camera.

Battery and Charging: Both models are equipped with a 5000mAh battery and support 80W fast charging.

Processor: The Vivo V40 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen3 processor with Android 14. The Vivo V40 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor. Both smartphones operate with FunTouch OS 14.

Additional Features: The phones include smart color temperature adjustment, distance-sensitive lighting, studio-quality aura light, and ZEISS professional portrait camera. Other features include in-display fingerprint recognition and a Type-C cable.
