POCO F6 Smartphone Launched Globally, Including India: Hands-Free Gesture Control, Starting at ₹29,999
Xiaomi’s Indian sub-brand POCO has launched the POCO F6 series in the global market, including India. This series includes the POCO F6 and POCO F6 Pro smartphones, now available for purchase worldwide. In India, the POCO F6 will be available starting May 29, while details for the POCO F6 Pro’s Indian release are yet to be announced.
The POCO F6 features Smart Sensing AON for gesture control, Smart Lock Detection, Smart AOD, and Smart Rotating Screen. Both phones come in three variants, with the POCO F6 priced starting at ₹29,999 and the POCO F6 Pro at $499 (approximately ₹41,537). They are available in green, black, and titanium colors, with a ₹2,000 instant discount on ICICI bank card purchases.

POCO F6: Smart Sensing AON Features
The POCO F6 introduces Smart Sensing AON with several innovative features:
- POCO AI Air Gesture: Control your smartphone with hand gestures without touching the screen.
- Smart Lock Detection: Automatically locks the screen when the user is not nearby, enhancing security.
- Smart AOD (Always-On Display): The AON camera remains active when the screen is off, turning on the display upon detecting the user’s face.
- Smart Rotating Screen: Adjusts the screen rotation based on the direction of the user’s face for a seamless viewing experience.
Poco F6: Specifications
Display: The Poco F6 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. It boasts 2400 nits peak local brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, operates at a 480Hz touch sampling rate, utilizes 2160Hz PWM technology, and functions at a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
Camera: Poco’s mobile is equipped with a dual rear camera setup for photography, including a 50MP primary camera with 8MP ultrawide sensor capable of 4K 60fps video recording. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 20MP front camera.
Processor: For overall performance, the phone relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8S General 3 chipset built on a 4nm process, clocked up to 3Ghz, accompanied by Adreno 735 GPU. Processor and OS: For performance, this phone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, capable of operating at speeds up to 3.19GHz. It features an X-axis linear vibration motor. The Poco F6 Pro model runs on HyperOS based on Android 14.
