UK-Based Tech Company ‘Nothing’ to Launch New Mid-Budget Smartphone ‘Nothing Phone 2a Plus’ at Month-End

The UK-based tech company ‘Nothing’ is set to launch a new mid-budget segment smartphone, the ‘Nothing Phone 2a Plus’, at the end of this month. The company has shared the launch date information on its official website and social media handles. The ‘Nothing Phone 2a Plus’ will be an advanced and upgraded version of the Nothing Phone 2a, which was launched earlier this year.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP dual camera setup, and wireless charging support. The company had launched its previous version with three storage options and may continue this trend with the upcoming smartphone.

The new version’s base model, with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, is expected to be priced at around 30,000 INR. While the company has not shared detailed information about the upcoming device, most of its specifications have been leaked in media reports. Here are the detailed specifications:

Display: The ‘Nothing Phone 2a Plus’ may feature a 6.7-inch 10-bit flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The peak brightness could be 2000 nits, with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels.

Camera: For photography, the smartphone may come with a dual camera setup on the rear panel. This could include a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. However, for selfies and video calling, it is not expected to offer a 32MP camera.

Processor and OS: For performance, the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset is likely to be included in the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus smartphone, which will operate on Nothing OS 2.5 custom skin based on Android 14 out-of-the-box.

Battery and Charger: For power backup, the smartphone is expected to come with a 5000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. According to media reports, the upcoming device might also support 15W wireless charging.
