Special Train to Ayodhya for the Inauguration of Lord Ram’s Idol on January 22
A special tour, organized by IRCTC, is set to travel to Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, on January 22. The tour, covering various destinations including Prayagraj, will last for 9 nights and 10 days.
This special train will offer facilities in three classes – Economy Class, Comfort Class 3AC, and Comfort Class 2AC. The journey will begin from Rajkot and pass through stations such as Surendranagar, Viramgam, Sabarmati, Nadiad, Anand, Chhayapuri, Godhra, Dahod, Meghnagar, and Ratlam. The tour will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the journey, catering to both morning and evening meal requirements.
After visiting Ayodhya, the train will continue its journey to Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Varanasi, Ujjain, and Nasik, covering famous temples and religious sites. Devotees participating in the tour are required to adhere to specific dress codes, with men wearing dhoti, kurta, and pajama, while women should wear saree or salwar-kameez.
The tour aims to provide a spiritual experience by visiting renowned temples and religious places. The journey is expected to be a unique and memorable one for the pilgrims.
Booking Details for the Special Train to Ayodhya
It is noteworthy that the grand consecration ceremony of Lord Ram’s temple is scheduled for January 22. After this event, a significant number of people from around the world are expected to visit historical sites. Pilgrims can now book their journey on this special train, which will commence its service from February 5.

Travel Itinerary:
- February 5, 2024: Rajkot The train departs from Rajkot and travels through various stations overnight.
- February 6, 2024: Ayodhya Arrive at Ayodhya in the morning. Pilgrims will have the opportunity to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi temple and participate in the evening Aarti at the Sarayu River. The night will be spent in Ayodhya.
- February 7, 2024: Ayodhya to Prayagraj After breakfast, pilgrims will have a last look at Ayodhya and proceed towards Prayagraj. After reaching, there will be a fresh-up and a visit to the Hanuman Mandir followed by a sacred dip in the Ganges. In the evening, the journey will continue towards Chitrakoot.
- February 8, 2024: Prayagraj to Chitrakoot Pilgrims will visit the Sangam in Prayagraj, followed by a visit to Bharadwaj Ashram and Maha Kumbh Mela. Later, the journey will continue to Chitrakoot. Pilgrims will attend the Aarti at Ram Ghat and stay overnight.
- February 9, 2024: Chitrakoot to Prayagraj In the morning, pilgrims will take a holy dip in the Mandakini River, visit Chitrakoot temples, and later depart for Prayagraj.
- February 10, 2024: Varanasi Early morning arrival at Varanasi. After checking into the hotel, pilgrims will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and witness the evening Ganga Aarti. Later, the journey will proceed towards Ujjain.
- February 11, 2024: Ujjain Pilgrims will visit the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Kal Bhairav, and Har Siddhi Mata Temple. The night will be spent in Ujjain.
- February 12, 2024: Ujjain In the morning, pilgrims will visit Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga for the last time. The journey will then continue towards Nasik.
- February 13, 2024: Nasik Arrival in Nasik, followed by freshening up. Pilgrims will visit Panchavati, Kala Ram Mandir, and Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. The journey will continue towards Rajkot at night.
- February 14, 2024: Rajkot The train will reach Rajkot via Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Sabarmati, Viramgam, and Surendranagar. The tour concludes in Rajkot.
