Passengers aboard a flight from Orlando, USA, were evacuated after a strong foul odor filled the plane. According to Fox Business, the incident occurred when Frontier Airlines Flight 1759 departed from Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Wednesday night. A video has gone viral on social media showing passengers using emergency slides to exit the plane at Charlotte Douglas Airport. There were 226 passengers on the flight, and they evacuated from the plane using jet bridges and evacuation slides.

During the slide descent, one passenger sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Frontier Airlines informed Fox Business on Thursday that “yesterday (Wednesday) evening, during boarding of Flight 1759 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the entire aircraft began to experience an unexpected strong odor. Out of an abundance of caution, the captain issued a gate return.”

The airline further stated, “Passengers deplaned via jet bridges and evacuation slides. Reports indicate there was no smoke or fire. All passengers will be accommodated on an alternative flight.”

A passenger informed Queen City News that they noticed the first odor in the plane before the lights went out. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) informed Fox Business that the crew detected the smell of smoke in the cabin, and an investigation into the incident will be conducted.
