Travel from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in 4.5 Hours: New 20-Coach Saffron Vande Bharat Train Completes 130 km/h Trial Run
Indian Railways has introduced the Vande Bharat train, and currently, two of these trains are running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Now, plans have been made to operate a new Vande Bharat train with 20 coaches instead of the existing 16, featuring a saffron color.
Today, on Friday, August 9th, the first trial run of this new 20-coach Vande Bharat train was conducted from Kalupur Railway Station in Ahmedabad. The train was tested at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour. Senior officials and engineers from Western Railways inspected the entire train during the trial.
Indian Railways to Introduce 20-Coach Vande Bharat Express Between Ahmedabad and Mumbai
Vande Bharat trains with 16 and 8 coaches are currently operating between major cities in India. Initially, the Vande Bharat trains were white, but the color has now been changed to saffron.
Two Vande Bharat trains are running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, and both have full bookings, indicating strong passenger demand.
In response to this demand, Western Railways has decided to introduce a 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Surat-Mumbai Central route, ensuring better accommodation for passengers.
Trial Run of 20-Coach Vande Bharat Train Conducted from Kalupur Railway Station
Today, a trial run was conducted for the new 20-coach Vande Bharat train, which includes four additional coaches, at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour. The trial began at 7:00 AM from Ahmedabad’s Kalupur Railway Station under the supervision of Western Railway’s engineers and senior officials.
The train maintained a speed of 130 kilometers per hour right from Ahmedabad. The train, which departed at 7:00 AM, is scheduled to reach Mumbai Central by 12:15 PM, completing the journey in just four and a half hours.
New 20-Coach Vande Bharat Train to Save an Hour with Increased Speed
Currently, two Vande Bharat trains operate between Ahmedabad, Surat, and Mumbai, with an average speed of 100 kilometers per hour, completing the journey in 5.5 hours. The new 20-coach Vande Bharat train, however, will run at a speed of 130 kilometers per hour, saving passengers an hour of travel time.
To ensure safety, RPF personnel have been deployed at railway stations and crossings along the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route to manage any unexpected situations effectively.
