Tata Group’s airline, Air India, unveiled its first new A350-900 series Airbus on December 23, 2023, with a full-service flight from Toulouse, France, landing at Delhi Airport. The aircraft has now commenced commercial services since January 22. The delivery of three aircraft to India has also begun, with one or two planes expected to arrive each month. Among these deliveries, passengers traveling from Ahmedabad to London will also receive good news, as Air India will operate A350-900 series aircraft on the Gatwick route. Currently, Air India operates the route with a capacity of 256 passengers using the 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft features only 18 business class seats and 238 economy class seats, without the provision of luxury seats for passengers.

In the upcoming times, Air India will introduce a new series of aircraft featuring 316-seater aircraft, where passengers can enjoy private business suites for a comfortable travel experience within 9 hours. This facility will be available for travelers flying from Ahmedabad to London in the next 6 months. Additionally, efforts are underway to upgrade existing Dreamliner aircraft from Air India’s fleet. Consequently, passengers traveling to London will receive enhanced services.

To cover a distance of 8207 kilometers to London from Ahmedabad, it currently takes approximately 9 hours and 40 minutes. This flight operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 1:10 PM local time and arriving in London at 5:20 PM local time.
In Ahmedabad, on January 5th, the A-350 aircraft landed as part of its inaugural flight. In the coming times, Air India conducted a test flight for the new series of aircraft from Ahmedabad to Delhi without passengers. On January 5th, the A350 series aircraft successfully landed at Ahmedabad Airport at 5:35 PM local time, coming from Delhi. However, before departing for Delhi, the aircraft faced a technical issue, which required it to be grounded, causing a stir among Air India officials as well.
