For those with a penchant for summer escapades abroad, exciting news has emerged. Starting from March 31st to October 26th, 2024, Ahmedabad Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport is gearing up to kickstart its summer schedule.
With approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the possibility looms that from March 31st, 2024, international flights will commence from Ahmedabad Airport.
Direct flights from Ahmedabad Airport to international destinations, including Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jeddah, are on the horizon. Furthermore, there are expectations of increased frequency in several flights, promising smoother travel experiences for globetrotters.
Commencement of Summer Schedule for International Flights
The summer schedule for international flights, announced by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), is set to take effect from March 31st to October 26th, 2024. This period will witness the initiation of direct flights to various international destinations, including Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jeddah, operated by different airlines.
It is noteworthy that every year, the last Sunday of March marks the commencement of the summer schedule across different airports in the country. This year, in compliance with DGCA regulations, Ahmedabad Airport will inaugurate its summer schedule from March 31st, 2024.
Increased Frequency in Domestic Flights Expected Under Summer Schedule
Following the approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ahmedabad Airport is poised to witness a surge in both domestic and international flights under the summer schedule commencing from March 31st, 2024.
Within this schedule, there are possibilities of numerous domestic flights, many of which will enhance connectivity by increasing their frequency. While some domestic flights will augment their frequency to facilitate smoother connections, several international flights operated by various airlines are also anticipated to increase their frequency.
Expanding Flight Operations Between Countries
There are expectations of increased frequency in flights to Thailand by Thai Airways. Currently, there are three flights operating from Ahmedabad to Bangkok’s Don Mueang City, which is expected to increase to four flights per week.
Additionally, there are possibilities for Air India Express to commence direct flights to Bangkok. In Malaysia, Air Asia is expected to start direct flights to Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, Akasa Air can initiate direct flights to Jeddah.
The upcoming months of May and June may prove beneficial for travelers planning trips to Jeddah with direct flights anticipated. Presently, IndiGo Airlines operates flights from Ahmedabad to Jeddah. Furthermore, Akasa Airlines may also commence flights on this route in the coming days.
Daily Direct Flights Between Ahmedabad and Bangalore
In the year 2024, the domestic flight sector has witnessed an increase in flight frequency along with the introduction of new routes to enhance connectivity. Star Air is set to commence direct connectivity to Nanded in Maharashtra. Starting from March 31st, Star Air will operate flights from Ahmedabad to Nanded four days a week, namely Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Additionally, recently, daily direct flights between Ahmedabad and Bangalore have also been initiated. Furthermore, flights from Ahmedabad to Aurangabad were recently introduced, proving to be highly beneficial for vacationers. Vistara Airlines is also set to start daily direct flights from Ahmedabad to Goa, except for Wednesdays, starting from March 31st, covering the rest of the week.
