Zomato CEO: No Separate Dress for Veg and Non-Veg Delivery Boys

In less than 24 hours, Zomato has decided to dress their veg delivery boys in green attire. Now, delivery boys will wear red T-shirts like before. Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, shared this information by posting on social media platform X today, which is Wednesday.

Separate Fleet for Vegetarians in Zomato:

According to Zomato’s founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, the company will maintain a separate fleet (separate delivery boys) for vegetarians. However, this fleet will not use green color. This decision has been made to eliminate grassroots discrimination. All of the company’s riders will continue to wear red T-shirts.

Green Decision for Vegetarians on Tuesdays:

Previously, on Tuesdays, food delivery platform Zomato launched ‘Pure Veg Mode’ and ‘Pure Veg Fleet’ for customers in India who follow a 100% vegetarian diet. This decision was made to provide green attire for vegetarian orders.

Distinctive Packaging for Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Foods:

In addition, the company has also decided to pack vegetarian food in green boxes and non-vegetarian food in red boxes. Now, these boxes will be used exclusively for packaging all food items.

Continuation of Vegetarian Dining Options:

According to Deepinder Goyal’s announcement, only vegetarian dining options will be available in “Pure Veg Mode” at select restaurants. Restaurants offering non-vegetarian items will not be included in this mode. Goyal stated in his latest post that they now understand that some of their customers may face issues with their landlords. If that’s the case for us, it’s not good for anyone.
