Centipede Found in Amul Ice Cream in Noida: Company Issues Statement
In Noida, a centipede was found in an Amul ice cream, prompting the company to issue a statement on Monday (June 17) requesting the customer to return the ice cream box for investigation.
Deepa Devi, a resident of Noida, ordered Vanilla Magic flavor ice cream from Amul through Blinkit for ₹195 on June 15. Upon opening the ice cream, she discovered a centipede inside.
She immediately lodged a complaint with Blinkit, which refunded her money. Blinkit customer care assured her that an Amul manager would contact her. Information about the centipede was also shared on the social media site X. Food safety officials are investigating the matter.
Amul’s Statement on Noida Ice Cream Incident
Amul has released a statement regarding the incident where a centipede was allegedly found in their ice cream. On June 15, around 2:30 PM, Deepa Devi from Noida reported the issue on social media. Amul promptly responded and received the customer’s contact number by 3:43 PM.
Amul stated that after obtaining the contact number, their team made continuous attempts to reach the customer and was finally able to contact her after 9:30 PM on the same day (June 15). During their visit with the customer, Amul requested the ice cream box for testing, but the customer refused to provide it.
Amul mentioned that without retrieving the complaint-bearing box from the customer, it becomes difficult for them to investigate the matter and comment on the issue. During the interaction, the customer was informed about Amul’s state-of-the-art ISO-certified plants, which are fully automated and ensure multiple quality checks before offering any products to consumers. Amul also invited customers to visit their plant to observe the quality processes in place.
Finger Found in Ice Cream Cone in Mumbai
A few days ago, in the Malad area of Mumbai, Maharashtra, a woman discovered a piece of a human finger inside an ice cream cone that she had ordered online. Following the incident, the woman reported it to the Malad Police Station.
The Malad police have registered a case against Yummo Ice Cream Company and have sent the ice cream for testing. The human body part found in the ice cream has been sent to FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) for further analysis. The Malad police have provided information regarding the incident.
