Ahmedabad Reports 4 New COVID-19 Cases in 24 Hours; Total 38 in May, Isolation Wards Activated

New COVID-19 Cases in Ahmedabad and Kadi: Health Department on Alert

In the last 24 hours, Ahmedabad city has reported 4 new COVID-19 cases. Among the infected individuals, an 84-year-old man has been hospitalized, while the others are currently under home isolation. Meanwhile, one more case has been confirmed in Kadi, Mahesana district.

COVID-19 cases have shown a rise in May, with 38 cases reported so far, out of which 31 remain active. In response, isolation wards have been activated in SVP Hospital, Shardaben Hospital, and LG Hospital—all managed by AMC.

Second COVID Case Confirmed in Kadi

A second COVID-19 case has been recorded in Kadi taluka. The patient, a young cattle farmer living near Dadi Circle on Kalyanpura Road, was admitted to a private hospital after experiencing fever and cold symptoms. A COVID test confirmed his infection. Local health authorities have visited his home and are monitoring his condition, as well as that of his family. Their current health status is reported as stable. A rural area of Kadi had also reported a case just days earlier.

Isolation Wards and Medical Facilities Prepared Across Gujarat

With COVID cases spreading across Gujarat again, the health department has ramped up precautions. Hospitals statewide are setting up isolation wards and equipping them with oxygen tanks, PPE kits, ventilators, and essential medicines.

Ahmedabad Civil Hospital is fully prepared with a 1200-bed facility and two oxygen tanks, each with a 20,000-liter capacity. Rajkot Civil Hospital has set up a special 20-bed COVID ward, while Vadodara’s Sayaji Hospital has prepared a 22-bed isolation ward. Surat Civil Hospital is on standby and ready to activate emergency wards if needed.

Authorities Alert and Urging Caution

So far, Ahmedabad has reported 8 cases in May. The municipal health authorities have been placed on high alert. Civil Hospital’s superintendent has advised citizens to stay cautious and follow preventive guidelines to avoid a further spike.
