Tata Harrier and Safari Launch: 16kmpl Mileage, Level-2 ADAS, 7 Airbags
Tata Motors is set to launch its new generation of SUVs, Harrier and Safari. The company has recently unveiled both of these cars. The facelifted Harrier and Safari share a common diesel engine setup. Tata Motors has updated this engine, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. The company claims that both SUVs offer a mileage of over 16 kmpl.
Bookings for these vehicles began on October 6th. Buyers can make a booking by paying a token amount of INR 25,000. The pricing of the new Tata Safari and Tata Harrier has been increased compared to the current models. Currently, the ex-showroom price for the Safari ranges from INR 15.85 to INR 25.21 lakhs. The new Safari will compete with the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Scorpio, and Hyundai Alcazar.
At the same time, the current ex-showroom price of the Tata Harrier ranges from INR 15.20 to 24.27 lakhs. In this segment, it will compete with the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Jeep Compass, as well as offering competition to top variants of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Option of Petrol Engine Available
First, 2023 Tata Safari and Tata Harrier will be powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing a maximum of 168 HP and 350 Nm peak torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be available.
Tata’s New 1.5-liter Turbo-Petrol Engine Can Also Be Offered
Tata’s new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine can also be offered, generating 168 HP of power and 280 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with both manual and DCT gearboxes.
First Look Revealed in Teaser
The teaser showcases the front profile of the Harrier facelift, with a newly designed vertical split LED headlight setup, a sleek grille, and indicators, along with an LED DRL strip spread across the entire front. Another teaser reveals the front end of the new Tata Safari. It includes an end-to-end LED DRL setup, a new grille, a redesigned bumper, and new vertical stacked LED headlights. The Safari facelift gets a new bronze color as well. All these changes align with the new Tata Nexon and Tata Nexon EV, with full-width LED DRLs, a trend that began with cars like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and is now making its way into mainstream models as well.
Completely New Interior
Tata hasn’t revealed specific details about the cabin of the new Harrier and Safari. It’s expected that their cabins will be completely new, featuring a redesigned dashboard layout and backlight Tata logos along with a new 2-spoke steering wheel.
