Toyota Innova Highcross GX(O) Variant Launched: Strong Hybrid Engine, Mileage 21.1kmpl, Price Starts at ₹20.99 Lakh
On April 15, Toyota Kirloskar Motors launched a new top variant, the GX(O), of its popular hybrid car, the Toyota Innova HighCross. This variant of the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) will only come with a petrol engine option and is priced at ₹20.99 lakh ex-showroom.
The new variant GX has been positioned above the existing GX variant. It is ₹1 lakh more expensive than the GX variant and comes loaded with more features. It is available in both 7-seater and 8-seater configurations. This car comes with a strong hybrid engine, which provides a mileage of 21.1 kmpl. The price of the Toyota Innova HighCross ranges from ₹19.77 lakh to ₹30.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In the Indian market, it competes with models like the Maruti Ertiga, Kia Carens, and Toyota Innova Crysta. It can also be chosen as a premium option.
The new GX(O) variant of the Innova HighCross comes with many enhanced comfort features compared to the regular GX variant. It includes a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, front parking sensors, 360-degree view camera, rear sunshade, front LED fog lamps, and rear defogger.
However, the large infotainment system and rear sunshade will only be available in the 7-seater version. The Toyota Innova HighCross GX(O) variant also features fabric seat upholstery with a chestnut theme soft-touch dashboard and offers a more premium cabin experience compared to the GX variant. Additionally, the car boasts panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 9-speaker JBL audio system, electronically controlled automatic seats in the second row, mood lighting, and power tailgate among many other excellent interior features.
The Innova HighCross features a bold SUV-centric design. It comes with a large new front grille paired with attractive LED headlamps. The grille also sports a new chrome garnish that extends from the middle. Additionally, new faux silver skid plates are provided on the front and rear bumpers.
It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the HighCross offers redesigned LED tail-lamps. In terms of dimensions, the HighCross takes significant steps up from the Innova Crysta. The HighCross is 20 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and has a 100 mm longer wheelbase. The Platinum White exterior paint shade will cost you an additional Rs. 9,500.
The Toyota Innova HighCross GX(O) variant is available with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates 172hp of power and 205Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox. There is no option for an eco-friendly hybrid powertrain in this variant.
Furthermore, the higher variants of the car come with a robust 2.0-liter hybrid engine, which offers a fuel efficiency of 21.1 kmpl and a range of 1097 km on a full tank. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. The new TNGA 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, paired with a CVT, produces 174 PS of power. Meanwhile, the maximum power output of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine with e-Drive is 186 PS.
The Innova HighCross comes with Toyota Safety Sense suite, which includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Auto High Beam, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, 6 SRS Airbags, Electronic Parking Brake, Panoramic View Monitor with Dynamic Back Guide, ABS with EBD, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
