Tata Nexon-i Set to Launch CNG Variant: Features 230-Litre Boot Space
Tata Nexon Set to Enter the Market with a CNG Variant
After petrol, diesel, and electric variants, Tata Nexon is now ready to enter the market with a CNG variant. Tata Nexon was listed among the top 10 selling cars in the first six months of 2024. Now, Tata Motors aims to boost the sales of this popular car further by launching its CNG variant in the market. The company might launch the Nexon CNG next month in September. With the launch of this new variant, this car could become the most versatile compact SUV in the segment, offering 230 liters of boot space.
Tata Nexon Now Available in All Variants
After the launch of the CNG variant, Tata Nexon will be available in all variants in the market. The petrol and diesel variants of Tata Nexon are already present in the market. Following this, the electric variant was introduced, and now preparations are underway to launch the CNG option. Tata Nexon CNG was showcased earlier this year at the India Mobility Global Expo 2024.
What’s Special About Nexon CNG?
Tata Nexon could be India’s first turbo-petrol CNG variant. This car might feature a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol Revotron engine, making it the most powerful CNG vehicle in this segment. The engine could be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Like Tiago and Tigor, this car might also offer an automatic gearbox option.
Twin-Cylinder CNG Tank in Nexon
With the help of a single ECU, the engine of this car can be easily switched between CNG and petrol. Tata Motors was the first company to install a twin-cylinder CNG tank in its car, a feature now seen in Hyundai cars. This feature might also be included in Tata Nexon. Tata Motors could provide this car with 230 liters of boot space, potentially competing with Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
