Skoda Superb Relaunch in India: Luxurious Sedan with 9 Airbags & Driving Modes, Starting at ₹54 Lakhs
Skoda Auto India has relaunched the luxurious sedan Skoda Superb in India. It is priced at 54 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The company had discontinued the sedan car last year. Now, it will be sold in India as completely built units (CBU) with 100 units.
Booking for it has started. Buyers can book it online or visit their nearest dealership. The car’s delivery will commence by the end of this month. Superb will be available in the top-spec L&K trim, offering more features than the previous L&K model.
For safety, the car comes with 9 airbags, including driver-knee airbag, along with a dynamic chassis control with multiple drive modes similar to the previous model’s features and powertrain, maintaining its design.
The Skoda Superb launched in India is the second-generation model. Although its third-generation model has been introduced in the global market. It will compete with the Toyota Camry Hybrid in this segment. This vehicle will offer more value for money compared to luxury sedan cars from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW.
Skoda Superb: Exterior Design
The company has not made any changes to the car’s design. It features Skoda’s signature grille, L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs), and attractive bumpers with elongated LED headlights. Fog lamps are provided on the front bumper, adorned with slim chrome strips.
On the car’s sides, you’ll find slim chrome strips on the window line and 18-inch alloy wheels. The previous Superb model came with 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear of the luxurious sedan features slim LED taillights, integrated with chrome strips. Additionally, a slim bumper with chrome garnish is visible here. The car will be available in three color options – Rosso Brunello, Velvet World Green, and Magic Black.
Skoda Superb: Interior Design and Features
The interior of Skoda Superb is elegantly simple. The cabin comes with a black and brown color theme. It features slim AC vents on the dashboard, gloss black finish center console, and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Furthermore, chrome elements can be seen around the AC vents, center console, doors, and steering wheel.
Skoda has enhanced rear comfort by adding features like outer rear headrest adjustable wings and roll-up sun visors for the rear window and windscreen. The new Skoda Superb comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone climate control, a full-digital driver display, a 12-speaker 610W Canton sound system, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function (also for the driver seat), ventilated front seats and massage function for both driver and passenger seats. Sunroof feature has been removed from the car, instead, it comes with a variety of drive modes with dynamic chassis control.
Skoda Superb: Safety Features
For safety, the car comes with 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Hold Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and features like 360-degree camera. Additionally, it also features semi-autonomous parking assistance with auto braking for rear parking assistance.
Skoda Superb: Performance
Talking about the powertrain, the Skoda Superb comes with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine, which generates 190hp power and 320Nm torque. The engine is tuned with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
In India, this car will come with a front-wheel drive option, while in the international market, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system option is available. This engine can be found in Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, and also in some Audi models available in India.
