GLS 600 Facelift Launched in India: Level 2 ADAS, 4L Twin-Turbo Engine, Priced at ₹3.5 Crore
Luxury car manufacturing company Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelift of the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic in the Indian market. The company has priced the luxurious SUV at Rs. 3.35 crore (ex-showroom), and customers can also customize it according to their preferences, which will increase the cost further.
Major Powertrain Update
The biggest change in the car has been made to the powertrain. The car is now equipped with a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. Additionally, the car features ADAS Level 2 safety features. The Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 will continue to offer the same luxurious cabin experience as before, but the design of the car has been slightly altered. This car can compete with vehicles like the Range Rover SV, Bentley Bentayga, and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Mercedes Maybach GLS 600: Exterior Design
The company has launched this car with cosmetic changes. The company’s logo is placed on the hood at the front, below which a large Maybach-patterned grille can be seen. The front bumper is now thinner than before. Small Maybach logos have also been added to its air dam.
Regarding the side profile, there have been no major design changes, but there are several new design options for Maybach-special alloy wheels, which can be up to 23 inches in size.
The Maybach GLS also comes with a retractable side step that automatically extends when you open the door, making it easier to get in and out of this luxurious SUV. Minor changes have been made to the rear of the car, including a newly designed bumper, several chrome elements, and stylish AC vents.

Apart from the new steering wheel, there haven’t been many updates in the luxury SUV. There are no changes to the old dashboard layout. It features AC vents and a center console with chrome elements.
The Car Can Reach 100 kmph in 4.9 Seconds
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach is equipped with a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. This engine is also used in the company’s AMG performance cars like the GT63 S e-Performance and AMG S63 e-Performance.
The engine in the Maybach GLS 600 generates 557 PS of power and 770 NM of torque, and it also includes a 48-volt mild hybrid setup that provides an additional 21 PS of power and 250 NM of torque boost.
For transmission, the engine is tuned with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV comes with an all-wheel-drive option. The company claims that this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds.

The GLS Maybach SUV features dual integrated screens on the dashboard, the latest generation MBUX digital assistant, 4-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, ventilated seats, a 13-speaker Burmester sound system, electric sunblinds, and a panoramic sunroof.
For safety, the car includes multiple airbags, electronic stability control, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking. It also comes with adaptive air suspension, which actively adjusts to provide a comfortable ride for occupants while the car is in motion.
