New Maruti Suzuki Swift Booking Open: Z-Series 1.2L Petrol Engine & ADAS Safety Features, Facelift Version Launch in 9 Months
Maruti Suzuki India has initiated bookings for its most popular car, the Swift. Customers can book the hatchback by paying a token amount of ₹11,000 through the company’s official website or Arena dealership. The company is set to launch the facelift version of the car in India on May 9, 2024.
Next Generation Swift to Feature New Z-Series Petrol Engine
Reports suggest that the next generation Swift will come with significant changes, including a new Z-Series petrol engine replacing the current K12 four-cylinder petrol engine. This engine will produce 90hp power and 113Nm torque.
New Swift’s Transmission Details Awaited
Details about the new Swift’s transmission are yet to be announced, but it is expected to offer options such as a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Additionally, it may also come with CNG and hybrid engine options.
Next Generation Swift: Exterior Design
The exterior design of the next generation Swift retains its familiar look but introduces many new design elements. It features sharp projector headlamps with inbuilt LED DRLs and a black grille with a honeycomb pattern, surrounded by dark chrome finish.

The new Swift will boast several advanced features, including a 360-degree camera, dual sensor brake support, adaptive high beam assist, driver monitoring system, and collision mitigation braking system, among others. It will also offer ventilated seats, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and six airbags.

The current model starts at ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new Swift, with its added features and redesigned aesthetics, is expected to start from ₹6.3 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it will compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.
