New Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta+ (O) Variant Launch: Safe Compact SUV with 6 Airbags, Price ₹8.78 Lakh, Competes with Hyundai Exeter

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new variant of its premium sub-compact SUV, the Frontex Delta+. The new variant comes with only a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. It offers options of a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Previously, Frontex had five variants available – Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus, Zeta, and Alpha.

Safety Features and Pricing

For safety, the car comes with 6 airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors. These features were previously limited to the regular Delta+ variant, which has now been removed. Additionally, the Frontex 21 comes with the latest connectivity features. The company has priced the new variant’s manual version at Rs. 8.78 lakhs ex-showroom. Both manual and automatic versions are Rs. 15,000 pricier than the regular Delta Plus variant.

Competition and Pricing

Previously, the Front Zeta variant had 6 airbags available, priced at Rs. 10.56 lakhs (ex-showroom). With the launch of the new Delta Plus (O) variant, the model with 6 airbags is now Rs. 1.6 lakhs cheaper. This car competes with Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3XO in India.

Own it for ₹17,378 Monthly

The sporty compact SUV Frontex can be owned through Maruti Suzuki’s monthly subscription plan starting from Rs. 17,378. Customers can lease the car without buying it under this monthly subscription plan. It includes vehicle, registration, maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance.

Incorporating Design Elements from Grand Vitara and Baleno

The front end incorporates some design elements such as split headlamps, reminiscent of Maruti Suzuki’s flagship Grand Vitara SUV. It also features faux skid plates and large bumpers with chrome accents.

The front end incorporates some design elements from the Baleno hatchback. The front measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,550 mm in height, and 1,765 mm in width, resembling the Baleno.

Feature-rich Interior

Additionally, the car features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, and a 4-speaker sound system. It also includes electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, automatic climate control, electronic stability control, and features like parking sensors in the rear. For safety, it includes electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, seatbelt reminder for all seats, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Maruti Suzuki Frontex: Engine

The Maruti Suzuki Frontex comes with two engine options. These include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-liter Booster Jet engine. The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generates 90bhp power and 113Nm peak torque. The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo Booster Jet petrol engine produces 100bhp power and 147.6 Nm peak torque.
