Jeep Meridian Facelift Launched in India: Price Slashed by ₹6.24 Lakh to Rival Toyota Fortuner
Jeep India Launches the Updated Meridian SUV
On October 21, Jeep India introduced the facelifted version of its popular Meridian SUV in the Indian market. The updated Meridian comes in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, with an initial price of ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The new facelift has seen a significant price reduction of ₹6.24 lakh, compared to the previous model, which started at ₹31.23 lakh.
Bookings for the new Meridian have already begun, with deliveries expected to start by the end of this month. The Jeep Meridian is set to compete with major players like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Skoda Kodiaq.
Engine Power and Mileage
The Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This engine delivers 168 bhp at 3,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm between 1,750-2,500 rpm. It offers a fuel efficiency of 16.25 km per liter.
Cabin Features
The updated Meridian includes a range of modern features such as a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and powered and ventilated front seats. The entry-level “Longitude” variant is offered as a 5-seater, while all other variants come with a standard 7-seat layout. However, features like powered and ventilated front seats and a sunroof are not available in the base variant.
Level-2 ADAS Safety
The new Meridian boasts over 70 safety features, with the top-spec “Overland” trim equipped with Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and enhanced connectivity features. Some of these advanced features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The SUV also comes with connected technology like Alexa Home to Vehicle Integration.
