Hero Xtreme 160R Launched with New Colors and Features: India’s First Bike with Panic Brake Alert, Starting Price ₹1.38 Lakh
Hero MotoCorp launched the 2024 edition of the Xtreme 160R 4V in India on July 25. The company has introduced the updated bike with new colors, graphics, and advanced safety features. Hero claims that the Xtreme 160R 4V is the first bike in the 160cc segment in India to feature Panic Brake Alert and Drag Race Timer.
After the upgrades, the bike has become more comfortable, safer, and feature-packed than before. The bike is available in a single variant with three color options: Kevlar Brown (new), Neon Shooting Star, and Stealth Black.
The Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black variants are priced at Rs. 1,38,500, while the Kevlar Brown variant is priced at Rs. 1,39,500 (both ex-showroom prices). The updated Hero Xtreme 160R will compete with TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar, and Yamaha FZS-FI.
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Design and Hardware
The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V now features a new dual-tone Kevlar Brown and Black color scheme, accented with golden graphics. Hero has replaced the split seat with a single-piece seat for improved comfort. The bike is equipped with LED headlights and daytime running lights at the front.
The updated Xtreme 160R 4V also comes with a redesigned rear panel and new tail light design. The tail light includes an emergency stop signal, which activates during sudden braking. The bike now has a drag timer on the instrument console to measure its speed.
Constructed on a diamond-type frame, the bike features KYB inverted forks and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock as standard. It is equipped with a 276mm petal disc brake at the front and a 220mm petal disc brake at the rear. The bike comes with a standard dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). It also features 17-inch alloy wheels, with 100/80 tubeless tires at the front and 130/70 tubeless tires at the rear.
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Engine Specifications
There have been no changes to the bike’s engine. It continues to feature a 163cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that generates 16.6hp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14Nm of torque.
The engine is tuned to work with a 5-speed gearbox unit. The bike complies with OBD-2 standards and is capable of running on E20 petrol (a 20% ethanol blend).
2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Features
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes equipped with a fully digital instrument console featuring all-LED lighting and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.
It offers over 25 features, including call and text alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, trip details, fault alerts, ignition alerts, over-speed alerts, theft alerts, battery removal alerts, and remote immobilization.
The console also displays speed, odometer, tachometer, fuel level, gear position, clock, and tail light information.
