Force Gurkha 5-Door: First Look Revealed Ahead of Anticipated June Launch
Force Motors has released the first look of the upcoming 5-door version of the Gurkha. The company has been working on the Gurkha 5-door since 2022, and the pre-production models have undergone extensive testing in India multiple times. The new Gurkha will also feature a 3-door version with a wheelbase of 425mm longer than its predecessor.
According to media reports, the SUV could be launched in the Indian market in June this year. The price of the Force Gurkha 5-door could start from Rs. 16 lakhs, while the current price of the Gurkha 3-door is Rs. 5.10 lakhs. After the launch, the Gurkha 5-door will compete against the likes of the upcoming Thar and Maruti Jimny in the segment.
Gurkha 5-Door: Exterior Design
The upcoming 5-door version of the SUV will have a similar design to the Gurkha 3-door, but there will be some noticeable differences. In the upcoming Force Gurkha 5-Door, the headlamp units, which were previously rounded in the 3-door version, will now feature new square-shaped headlamp units with LED DRLs. Additionally, the company’s signature two-slat grille will also be incorporated into the lifestyle SUV.
Apart from these changes, the latest model will feature 18-inch diamond-cut dual-tone alloy wheels instead of the 16-inch wheels in the 3-door version. It will also come with two additional rear doors. Besides the new front and rear bumpers, no other significant external changes are expected. It will retain features like the tailgate-mounted spare wheel and snorkel similar to the 3-door model.
Gurkha 5-Door: Interior Design
The company hasn’t yet shared details about the cabin of the Gurkha 5-Door model, but previously released spy shots suggest that it will feature a dark grey color theme. It’s speculated that the longer wheelbase version of the Gurkha could offer a three-row layout and may come with bench and captain seats in the second and third rows.
The upcoming car may come equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen system in the center of the dashboard, power windows and multiple vents (in the second row), and manual AC for comfort. For safety, features like dual airbags, a reverse camera, and rear parking sensors may also be available.
New Gurkha 4-Wheel Drive Option Available
The Force Gurkha 5-Door model can be equipped with the same 2.6-liter diesel engine available in the 3-Door version, which produces 90 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. However, this engine can be slightly tuned for better performance. The company has sourced this engine from Mercedes-Benz.
For transmission, it will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a low-range transfer case for a four-wheel-drive setup. The 5-Door model will be equipped with a shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob located on the driver’s side of the center console.
