Ducati India Teases First Modern Single-Cylinder Motorcycle – Hypermotard 698 Mono

Ducati India has released a teaser for its first modern single-cylinder motorcycle, the Hypermotard 698 Mono. The company has announced that this motorcycle will be launched in India next week.

Engine and Performance

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 features a new high-strength Superquadro Mono engine that generates 77.5hp of power and 63Nm of torque. When equipped with the optional Termignoni racing exhaust, the bike can produce 84.5hp of power and 67Nm of torque.

Transmission

The bike comes with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch. Additionally, a bi-directional quickshifter is available as an optional extra. The RVE variants come standard with the bi-directional quickshifter.

Hypermotard 698 Features Flat Bench-Style Seat

The Hypermotard 698 bike comes equipped with a flat bench-style seat and a beaky front fender. Despite having a single-cylinder engine, Ducati has retained twin exhaust mufflers. The bike weighs only 151 kilograms and features USD forks and a monoshock handle suspension.

Braking System

For braking, the Hypermotard 698 includes a 330mm front disc with radial M4.32 monoblock calipers. The rear section is equipped with dual-channel ABS. The bike’s tires are from Pirelli, with the front tire sized at 120/70-ZR17 and the rear tire at 160/60-ZR17, both made of Diablo Rosso 4 rubber.

Riding Features

The Hypermotard 698 offers cornering ABS, traction control, engine braking control, three power modes, four riding modes, and launch control. Additionally, wheelie control is presented as an optional feature. All these functionalities are managed through a 3.5-inch LCD dash.

Import and Pricing

The Hypermotard 698 will be brought to India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit. This import method might lead to a higher price for the Hypermotard 698 in India.
