Live Video of Youth’s Suicide: Jumped from 100-Foot Tank, Bones Protruded on Impact, Was Only Son of Parents
A student studying at Chandigarh University (CU) in Kharar, Punjab, committed suicide by jumping from a 100-foot-high water tank. A video of him taking the leap has surfaced, showing him in the act of jumping.
The deceased student has been identified as 19-year-old Sumit Chikkara, a resident of Bahadurgarh (Haryana). He was the only son of his parents.
Friends informed the police that the deceased had attempted suicide before. This incident is said to have occurred on July 15.
BBA Student at Chandigarh University Commits Suicide Over Financial Worries
Sumit Chikkara, a BBA student at Chandigarh University (CU) in Kharar, was found dead after jumping from a 100-foot-high water tank. According to his friends, Aditya and Vaibhav, Sumit had been their friend and was worried about financial matters for several days.
Before jumping, Sumit had cut his wrist and then suddenly climbed the water tank at the Modern City Center. Friends and bystanders saw him climbing the tank and immediately tried to stop him. Two people even climbed the tank to rescue him, but upon seeing them, Sumit jumped off the tank.
Youth’s Bones Protrude Out
Two youths brought him to a government hospital. After examination, the doctors declared him dead. According to the information received, both of the youth’s legs were broken, and the bones of the legs were visibly protruding.
Police Hand Over Body to Family
He was living with his friends at PG in Modern Valley, Khanpur, and was the only son of his parents. Upon receiving information about the accident, the deceased’s family arrived at the government hospital in Kharar from Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
The police conducted the post-mortem and handed over the body to the family.
