Students Become Reckless

Not only students from South Gujarat but also from other states come to study at Veer Narmad University. However, in recent days, the university’s image has been tarnished, and those responsible for this are none other than its own students. The students have become reckless, engaging in acts like consuming alcohol and narcotics and breaking CCTV cameras in the hostel and other premises.

Vice-Chancellor Orders Drug Investigation

Kishorsingh Chavda, Vice-Chancellor of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, stated that during the Ganesh festival, various complaints were received, including students making reels and damaging CCTV cameras in the campus and hostel. The university informed the Vesu Police and requested an investigation. While no evidence of drug consumption has been found so far, the matter is still under investigation.

Request for Drug Tests on Students

In a letter from the university’s registrar to the Vesu police inspector, a request has been made for drug tests on students. The letter states that as permission was granted only near the amphitheater for Ganesh idol installation, a group of individuals attempted to create an atmosphere of fear by putting up banners. Based on the students’ behavior, there is information suggesting they might have consumed intoxicants, and action should be taken to conduct drug tests.

Students Create Reels on Car Bonnets

The university itself is filing applications with the police to investigate its own students. In another application, it is mentioned that students are making reels while sitting on car bonnets in and around the university campus.

Students Break CCTV Cameras to Avoid Detection

In a third application, it is stated that students break CCTV cameras to ensure their illegal acts are not captured. The university has filed a complaint with Vesu Police, informing them that students have damaged cameras in the Narmad Smriti Bhavan seminar hall located in the hostel and university premises.

Creating an Atmosphere of Fear Regarding Ganesh Idols

In the fourth application, the university mentioned that although no permission was granted for Ganesh idol installation, some students want to establish idols, violating the police commissioner’s orders and attempting to create an atmosphere of fear. The university has requested appropriate action and security measures to maintain law and order within the campus.
