Vadodara Businessman’s Daughter Jigishaben Shah to Take Initiation in Ahmedabad, Following Sons
Jigishaben Shah to Renounce Worldly Life in Bopal, Ahmedabad
Jigishaben Shah, the 46-year-old daughter of prominent Vadodara businessman Girishbhai Shah, will embrace monkhood on December 3 in Bopal, Ahmedabad. A graduate in B.Sc. from M.S. University, Jigishaben married a well-known architect, Shailbhai Shah, from Ahmedabad and is the mother of two sons. In 2017, both of her sons took diksha under Acharya Yugbhushansuri Maharaj in Mumbai and became monks, adopting the names Pravarbhuvan Vijayji (age 17) and Ratnabhuvan Vijayji (age 15). Now, inspired by her sons and spiritual guides, Jigishaben will join them in the spiritual path.
Inspired by Spiritual Legacy and Family Influence
From a young age, Jigishaben was drawn to the spiritual path, influenced by the presence of a Jain temple at home and by her aunt, Sadhvi Jinendraji Maharaj. Following years of spiritual contemplation, she has decided to renounce the world and take diksha in Bopal, Ahmedabad.
Farewell and Blessings from Community Members
On the eve of her departure from worldly life, a farewell event was organized by the Alkapuri Jain Sangh in Vadodara, where community leaders, including Jain speaker Shashanbhai and musician Rishabh Doshi, celebrated Jigishaben’s journey towards monkhood. Leaders from various Jain communities, including CA Himmatbhai, Prashantbhai, and Jayendra Shah, sent their best wishes. The entire community was invited to attend her diksha ceremony in Ahmedabad on December 3.
Family’s Pride and Blessings for Jigishaben’s Spiritual Path
Girishbhai Shah expressed pride in his daughter’s decision, reflecting on the values she embodies. He shared his blessings, hoping that her spiritual journey continues to flourish, noting that her decision was inspired by the example set by her two sons who had previously taken diksha.
This moment marks a profound and inspiring new chapter for Jigishaben, with her family and community by her side as she steps onto the spiritual path.
