205 Indians Deported from the U.S. Arrive in India Today; 33 Gujaratis to Reach Ahmedabad via Amritsar

Amritsar, India – A group of 205 Indians who were residing illegally in the United States are being deported and will arrive in India today. Among them, 33 individuals from Gujarat will be flown from Amritsar to Ahmedabad via an IndiGo flight. The Ahmedabad police have been placed on high alert ahead of their arrival.

Following stricter immigration policies under former U.S. President Donald Trump, authorities have intensified action against undocumented immigrants. In this latest deportation, a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft is transporting these individuals and is expected to land at Amritsar Airport by noon.

High Security at Amritsar Airport

The aircraft carrying the deported Indians departed from Antonio Airport in the U.S. on Tuesday and is scheduled to reach Amritsar today. Security agencies at Amritsar Airport have been placed on alert, though local administration officials have stated that they have not yet received orders to detain the deportees. Additionally, no detention center has been set up for them.

Reports indicate that 11 crew members and 45 American officials are accompanying the deportees. These officials will oversee the transfer process before returning to the U.S.

Breakdown of Deportees from Gujarat

Among the 33 Gujaratis being deported, the highest numbers are from Mehsana and Gandhinagar, with 12 individuals from each district. Surat accounts for four deportees, while Ahmedabad has two. Kheda, Vadodara, and Patan each have one individual being sent back.

Transfer to Ahmedabad

Once they arrive in Amritsar, the 33 Gujaratis will be flown to Ahmedabad on an IndiGo flight. In response, Ahmedabad police have been placed on alert to ensure a smooth transition upon their arrival.
