Udaipur Leopard Attack: Girl Washing Hands-Legs Dragged Away, Severed Hand Found, Face and Arm Eaten in Terrifying Incident

Yesterday, incidents of leopard attacks occurred in Gujarat and Rajasthan. In the village of Samana in Jamjodhpur, Gujarat, a leopard attacked a sleeping girl. The incident in Udaipur, Rajasthan, was particularly horrifying.

About 45 kilometers from Udaipur, in the Gogunda area, a leopard preyed on a 5-year-old girl. The leopard had snatched the child from the vicinity. The severed hand of the girl was found in the forest, and shortly after, her body was discovered as well. Before the villagers could react, a leopard emerged from the bushes and took the body away.

Villagers Search for Body Until Early Morning

The villagers searched the jungle for the body until 2 AM but were unsuccessful. In the past 20 days, a leopard has preyed on four people in this area.

When the villagers reached the hilly region near the forest, they found the severed hand of the girl a short distance away, and further along, they discovered her lifeless body. The leopard had also eaten the girl’s face and left arm.

Police and Forest Department Respond to Leopard Attacks

Upon receiving information late at night, police officer Shaitan Singh arrived at the scene. Subsequently, a team from the Forest Department also reached the location. Notably, the leopard has claimed the lives of three people in the Undithal, Bhevadia, and Umariya areas of the Chhali Gram Panchayat, which falls under the Gogunda police station jurisdiction. 

Following these incidents, a search operation was launched by the Forest Department’s rescue team and a contingent from four districts.

On Monday night, two leopards were trapped in cages set up near Umariya and were transported to the Udaipur Biological Park on Tuesday morning.

Currently, four teams from the Forest Department are stationed at various locations within the Chhali Gram Panchayat area, and traps have been set up at three sites.
