Massive Fire at TVS Showroom in Vadodara at Midnight: Chaos Ensues, 10 Fire Trucks Rush to the Scene, 250 Two-Wheelers Worth Rs 1.5 Crore Destroyed
Vadodara Fire and Emergency Department received a call late last night regarding a fire at the TVS showroom on Sindhwai Mata Road, Pratapnagar. Upon receiving the information, 10 fire trucks were immediately dispatched to the scene. After more than three hours of intense effort, firefighters managed to control the blaze.
The showroom owner, Ujjwal Talati, stated, “Around 125 new two-wheelers and 125 two-wheelers that were in for service, totaling approximately 250 two-wheelers, were completely destroyed in the fire. The total damage amounts to around Rs 1.5 crore from the loss of vehicles, and when we include the spare parts that were burned, the total loss comes to about Rs 2 crore.”
Bikes, Scooters, and Electric Vehicles Destroyed in Fire
A sudden fire broke out late at night at the TVS showroom located on the Pratapnagar-Manjalpur road. As the fire intensified, the Fire and Emergency Department had to call in around 10 fire trucks from various fire stations. After more than three hours of strenuous efforts, the fire was brought under control.
The blaze completely destroyed the bikes, scooters, and electric vehicles stored in the showroom. According to figures provided by the fire department, the total damage exceeds Rs 1.5 crore.
Immediate Power Supply Cut Off
Following the incident, teams from the police department, electricity supply department, and fire department swiftly arrived at the scene to take action.
Officers from Makarpura Police Station and staff from Lalbaug GEB promptly cut off the power supply. The exact cause of the fire is still unclear, but the showroom owner has suffered losses worth crores of rupees.
Senior Fire Officials Arrive at the Scene
Senior officials from the fire department, along with ACP Pranav Kataria from the police department, arrived at the scene immediately. The area around the incident was in a state of chaos during the late night hours due to the fire. Additionally, there were reports of a fire at a Ganesh pandal caused by a diya (lamp), but it did not result in significant damage.
