Manna Ram Jakhar (age 45), residing in Mudan Ki Dhani, Jodhpur, was a teacher at the government higher primary school in Jud village (Jodhpur). His elder brother Mangal Jakhar was a teacher at the Bhenslana village school in the Kishangarh-Renwal tehsil area of Jaipur.
Mangal retired as a teacher from the government higher secondary school in Mundoti. To celebrate this, a Bhajan Sandhya was organized on Friday at the Jalwali Balaji temple in the village. Manna Ram Jakhar had also come from Jodhpur to participate.
Joy Turned into Grief
The Bhajan Sandhya started around 10 PM. Teacher Manna Ram, immersed in the devotional atmosphere, couldn’t control himself and danced to the first four to five bhajans. After a while, he sat down. Around 12 midnight, to the tune of “I will die one day due to Kanuda’s smile…,” Manna Ram started dancing again. After about 2 minutes, he suddenly collapsed and died. This turned joy into sorrow.
