On December 20, 2024, a video went viral on social media showing a youth brandishing a weapon and intimidating children in the Punagam area. The police swiftly responded to the situation and identified the location as Kuber Nagar, where the accused was seen threatening passersby with a knife.
Viral Video Leads to Arrest of the Youth
The viral video helped the Punagam police trace the suspect, identified as Adityasingh Kailashsingh Rajput. With the assistance of local informants and witnesses, the police launched an investigation. Upon locating the suspect, they found him carrying a 6-inch steel knife with a sharp 3-inch blade.

The accused attempted to flee when approached by the police but was quickly apprehended. During the search, the police confiscated the knife, which lacked any legal permit or documentation. The accused admitted to carrying the weapon to intimidate others and establish dominance in the locality.

Adityasingh confessed that the viral video was filmed on December 18, 2024, in Gurunagar, Punagam. He stated that his intention was to create fear and display his dominance in the area. The police have registered a case under Section 135 of the BNS Act for violating public weapon control laws.

The accused, a 22-year-old resident of Momainagar, Bhaiyanagar, Punagam, was paraded publicly after his arrest. Despite his seemingly normal lifestyle, his actions revealed a darker side aimed at asserting dominance.
