Surat’s Largest VR Mall Threatened: Police Evacuate Thousands, Fire Department on Standby

Surat’s largest VR mall has been evacuated by the police. Upon receiving threats of a bomb blast in the mall, the police immediately went into action mode. Surat VR Mall received an email stating, “Save as many as you can, there will be a blast.” Responding to this threatening email, the Crime Branch, SOG, and bomb squad reached the scene. Even the Umra Police reached the spot. Fear spread among the people. Along with the threatening email, everyone was informed by the management. Scenes of panic were witnessed as people rushed to evacuate from inside the mall.

Bomb Squad Team Inspects the Mall

Additional CP K.N. Damor stated that today at four o’clock, this email was received. It was mentioned that a bomb has been planted in this mall and it will explode soon. We are evacuating everyone from the mall. Our Crime Branch, SOG, and bomb squad teams are inspecting inside the mall. Bomb threat emails have been received in 52 places across the country.

Evacuation of 2 to 3 Thousand People

Asif, a youth working at VR Mall, mentioned that management informed us that a bomb has been placed in the mall, so close your store. At that time, there was also panic among the customers. Police, dog squad, and bomb squad arrived within 10-15 minutes. 2 to 3 thousand people were evacuated.

Fire Department’s Two Vehicles on Standby

Two fire department vehicles are on standby for VR Mall. Senior officials of the fire department also rushed to the scene. The fire department has brought all types of equipment.
