Sukhbir Singh Badal Became President in 2008
It is worth noting that Sukhbir Singh Badal took over the leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal in 2008. He held the position of president for 16 years and two months. Before Sukhbir Singh Badal, the leadership of the party was in the hands of his father, Parkash Singh Badal.
Sukhbir Singh Badal Resigns Ahead of By-Elections
Sukhbir Singh Badal has resigned from the position of party president just ahead of the by-elections scheduled for November 20, for four assembly seats in Punjab. Following his resignation, it remains to be seen who will be appointed as the new president of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
