Violence Erupts: Stone Pelting at Ramji’s Procession in Bhoj Village of Padra taluka, Vadodara; 10 Women Injured
On January 22, the celebration of Ramlalla’s death is taking place in Ayodhya, painting the entire country in the colors of devotion to Lord Ram. However, amidst the festivities, reports of communal violence have surfaced in Vadodara. Stones were thrown during a procession for Ramji in Bhog village of Padra taluka. The incident resulted in injuries to 10 women involved in the stone pelting between two groups. In response to the incident, the police have deployed a convoy in Bhoj village and are working to mediate and persuade people from both groups.
It has been reported that there was a shortage of police personnel during the procession. However, an adequate number of police forces have been deployed after the incident. The police are currently conducting an extensive investigation to identify the individuals responsible for throwing stones. Police cycles have been deployed to apprehend those involved in the stone-pelting incident. The situation has calmed down after the intervention of senior police officials.
Hindu Ekta Sangathan organized a scooter rally that traveled through various villages, including Bhoj village. Upon returning to Bhoj village, there were incidents of stone pelting, resulting in minor injuries to some women. The purpose of the rally was to promote the reconstruction of the Padra Bhathuji temple in different villages. Padra’s Police Inspector, Tadvi, mentioned that police arrangements have been strengthened. Two women sustained minor injuries, and the situation has now returned to normal, with peace prevailing.
A procession in honor of Lord Ram was held in Kheralu, Mehsana district, as part of the Pran Pratishtha Mohotsav. Unfortunately, when the procession reached the Belim area, around four o’clock in the evening, individuals from the surrounding areas began throwing stones at the participants. To control the situation, the police had to use tear gas shells. Regrettably, five people were injured in the stone-pelting incident. The police detained approximately 15 suspects for further investigation.
