SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav Abuses CJI DY Chandrachud Amid Ayodhya Dispute: Claims Respect, Anger Grows Over Controversial Remarks
Ram Gopal Yadav, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, has made derogatory remarks about Chief Justice DY Chandrachud of the Supreme Court. When asked about his comment on “praying to God” in the context of the Ayodhya dispute, he used disrespectful language against the CJI.
This statement by Ram Gopal Yadav has sparked controversy, drawing reactions from leaders of both the ruling party and the opposition.
However, after facing criticism, Yadav retracted his statement, claiming that no one had asked him anything about the Chief Justice. In fact, when questioned about the CJI DY Chandrachud’s remarks on the Babri dispute verdict, Ram Gopal Yadav stated, “I have no comments to make. When you resurrect ghosts, they become ghosts and fall behind justice. Now what, do you still see the Babri Mosque and the temple? Forget it, if everyone talks like this, should I take his cognizance?”
Ram Gopal Yadav Denies Commenting on CJI
As controversy surrounding his statement grew, Ram Gopal Yadav retracted his remarks, stating that he had not made any comments regarding the Chief Justice. He clarified that he was asked about the Bahraich violence.
Ram Gopal said, “No one asked me anything about the CJI. The Chief Justice is a very respected and esteemed person; I have never made any comments about him.”
Akhilesh Yadav on Controversial Comment: Unaware of Uncle’s Remarks
Responding to the controversy, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav stated that he is unaware of his uncle’s controversial comment. He emphasized, “We all respect the Chief Justice.”
BJP Targets Samajwadi Party Over Controversial Remarks
BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain has responded to the statement made by Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav regarding CJI Chandrachud. He stated, “The Samajwadi Party engages in such talks. Their only job is to incite people and create riots. During the Samajwadi Party’s rule, riots occurred; we have thwarted the conspiracies of the Samajwadis.”
BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi also commented on Ram Gopal Yadav’s statement, saying, “Ram Gopal Yadav used disrespectful language regarding the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, which reflects a disregard for the judiciary. This behavior shows that the Samajwadi Party does not trust the country’s constitution or independent judiciary and resorts to abusive language. This is very unfortunate and condemnable. The Samajwadi Party should take strict action against Ram Gopal Yadav.”
What CJI Said About the Ayodhya Dispute
Reflecting on the time spent deliberating the Ayodhya case, CJI Chandrachud stated, “Many times cases come before us, but we are unable to reach a resolution.
Something similar happened during the Ayodhya (Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute), which was before me for three months. I sat before God and told Him that He must find a solution to this. Trust me, if you have faith, God will always find a way.”
