A new controversy has emerged regarding the prasadam of temples after animal fat was discovered in the laddu of the Tirumala Balaji Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The ghee used to prepare the prasadam at Tirupati Balaji was found to contain beef and pig fat.

Now, even in the famous Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, rat babies were found in its Mahaprasadam. Rats were spotted in packets of the ‘Mahaprasadam Laddu’ distributed by the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust to devotees. Several packets were also found to be gnawed. Meanwhile, the temple administration has stated that an investigation will be conducted into the matter.

According to NDTV reports, shocking images have surfaced from the famous Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. Rat babies can be seen in the temple’s Mahaprasadam. When asked for clarification on these images, the temple trust’s secretary, Veena Patil, stated that the images need to be investigated, and the CCTV footage will also be checked.

Rat cubs were found in Prasad.

50,000 Laddus Prepared Daily as Prasadam

According to the report, around 50,000 laddus are prepared daily in the temple premises as prasadam. During festivals, the demand for laddus increases significantly. Each prasadam packet contains two laddus weighing 50 grams. The ingredients used in the laddus are also certified by the Food and Drug Department.

The prasad basket was found carved.

Questions Raised About Cleanliness and Sanctity Inside the Temple

Lab tests suggest that these Mahaprasadam laddus can be safely stored for 7 to 8 days. However, after the images of rat babies found in the laddus surfaced, serious questions have been raised regarding the cleanliness and purity of the prasadam inside the temple.

Temple Trust Demands Proof of Video Authenticity

Veena Patil, Secretary of the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, stated, “At first glance, it does not appear that these images are from the Siddhivinayak Temple. It also doesn’t seem like these images are from inside the temple. We need evidence to verify the authenticity of this video as well. We will conduct an investigation at our administrative level.”
