Private Bus with Pilgrims Overturns Near Kaprada After Visit to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Injuring Over 30 Passengers En Route to Surat
A bus carrying pilgrims from Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Nashik, Maharashtra, was on its way to Surat. Near Mandva village in Kaprada, the driver lost control of the steering while navigating the steep slopes of the Kumbh Ghat, causing the bus to overturn.
The accident left more than 30 passengers injured with varying degrees of injuries. All injured passengers have been transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Injured Passengers Taken to Hospital After Bus Accident Near Mandva Village
At Kumbh Ghat near Mandva village, a bus accident occurred when it overturned. Upon learning of the accident, local residents and passersby rushed to assist the injured passengers. The locals informed the Kaprada police team and the 108 emergency service.
With the help of the 108 team, the injured were transported first to the Kaprada Government Hospital and then to Dharampur State and Valsad Civil Hospitals for further treatment.
Police Begin Investigation at Accident Site; Driver to Face Charges
Upon receiving information about the accident, the Kaprada police team arrived promptly at the scene to investigate the primary cause of the incident and worked to remove the overturned bus, which was obstructing traffic.
The bus driver also sustained injuries and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The accident involved a luxury bus operated by Sadguru Shivam Travels. Meanwhile, preparations are underway at the Kaprada police station to file a complaint against the driver.
Bus Driver Claims Brake Failure Led to Accident
The bus driver, Gyaneshwar, informed source that he was returning from Shirdi with passengers when, near Kaprada, the bus’s brakes suddenly failed. Due to the steep slope, stopping the bus became difficult.
Despite his efforts to control the bus, the brake failure left him with no options, ultimately leading him to overturn the bus to prevent further danger. Around 30 passengers were on board, all of whom sustained minor to moderate injuries.
