According to reports, Hruday Vyanta from Vasna, along with Dhruv Solanki and Rithayu Solanki from Vejalpur, rented the Scorpio for ₹3,500 for four hours to go to Vasna Barrage and create social media reels. Their other friends—Virajsingh Rathod from Paldi, Yaksh Bhankodiya from Ambawadi, Yash Solanki, and Krish Dave—joined them at the location.

Their friends on the shore tried to rescue them by throwing a rope, but none of them could grab it, and they were swept away by the current.
