Saif Ali Khan Discharged from Hospital After 5 Days; Crime Branch Recreates Attack Scene with Accused, Actor Won’t Return to Attack Site

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital today. After being under doctors’ observation for five days, the medical team noticed an improvement in his health and decided to release him from the hospital.

Saif Ali Khan Will Not Return to the House Where the Attack Occurred

After being discharged from the hospital, Saif Ali Khan will not return to his Satguru Sharan apartment. Instead, he will move to the Fortune Heights apartment where he used to live earlier. His belongings were shifted there last night. Before moving to Satguru Apartments, Saif lived with his family at Fortune Heights, which he later converted into an office.

Police Recreate Scene of Attack on Saif Ali Khan Early Morning

On Tuesday morning, Mumbai Police recreated the scene of the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan to understand how the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzada, carried out the incident. The police investigated how the accused entered Saif’s house, reached his younger son Jeh’s bedroom, and exited the premises.

The accused, who was arrested on January 19, was taken out of the lockup at 1:15 a.m. on Monday night and first brought to Bandra police station. Between 3 and 4 a.m., he was taken to Saif’s residential society. The accused was made to carry a bag resembling the one he had during the incident.

Apart from recreating the scene, a separate forensic team also visited Saif’s house for investigation. The team collected 19 fingerprints from areas like the bathroom window, shafts, and staircase of the actor’s residence. According to news agency PTI, the accused had entered Saif’s house through the bathroom window and used the same route to escape after the attack.

The attack occurred on January 15 at 2 a.m., leaving Saif with severe injuries to his spine and neck. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was receiving treatment. As per media reports, Saif Ali Khan is expected to be discharged from the hospital today.

Accused Claims Only Saif Ali Khan’s Door Was Open in the Building

The accused, Shahzada, told the police that he had checked the ducts of several flats in the building, but they were sealed, and all the doors to other flats were locked, preventing him from entering any other home. According to the accused, only Saif Ali Khan’s back door was open in the entire building. He further stated that he was unaware he had entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence until he saw the news in the morning, which revealed that he had entered the actor’s home.

It was also discovered that the CCTV at the building’s main entrance was turned off, but the private CCTV cameras in some flats were still operational.

Auto Rickshaw Driver Awarded for Humanity

According to media reports, Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto rickshaw driver who took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital after the attack, has been awarded a cash prize of ₹11,000 by an organization for his act of kindness. The award was presented to him in recognition of his humanity.

Speaking to ANI, he mentioned that he was called to the police station for a statement. He said, “I was called to Bandra Police Station for questioning… I didn’t think about money that night. So far, neither Kareena Kapoor nor anyone else has contacted me.”

Shariful Entered Saif Ali Khan’s Apartment Using a Pipe

Mumbai Police arrested the accused, Shariful, late on the night of January 19. The Crime Branch revealed that Shariful was a wrestler from Bangladesh. He is currently in police custody for a five-day remand.

According to the police, Shariful had entered the Bollywood star’s apartment on the morning of January 16 with the intention of theft. Investigations revealed that he initially reached the building’s eighth floor via the stairs.

Later, he used a pipe to climb to the 12th floor and entered Saif’s flat through the bathroom window.
