Reckless Thar Driver Hits Women in Ahmedabad, Caught After Fleeing; CCTV Footage Out
The series of reckless driving incidents in Ahmedabad continues unabated. Near Gulab Tower in the Thaltej area, a Thar driver recklessly hit two women riding an Activa. The collision was so intense that both women were flung 20 feet away. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Police apprehended the Thar driver, who fled the scene, and have initiated legal proceedings.
Fourth Reckless Driving Incident in a Month
This is the fourth incident of reckless driving in Ahmedabad within a month. Fortunately, both women involved in this accident escaped unhurt.
December 5: Driver Flees After Accident
On December 5, near Gulab Tower, two women riding an Activa were struck by a speeding Thar. The collision caused the women to skid far away. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. The injured women were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The A Division Traffic Police registered a case and started an investigation.
Hit-and-Run Driver Identified and Arrested
The SOG Crime Branch also began probing the case. Based on CCTV footage, the police traced the Thar to a man named Rishil Shah. He fled after the accident but was eventually arrested. Rishil already has multiple cheating cases registered against him at Bodakdev, Ghatlodia, Naranpura, and Satellite police stations. The SOG arrested the accused and handed him over to the Traffic Police for further action.

November 23: Car Hits Two Doctors on SG Highway
On November 23, a group of doctors from Satellite, Ahmedabad, were cycling towards Vadsar. While cycling on the SG Highway near the High Court overbridge early morning, a speeding car hit Dr. Anish Tiwari and Dr. Krishnaben Shukla. Dr. Anish fell along with his bicycle, while Dr. Krishnaben lost consciousness. The car driver fled the scene, but fortunately, both doctors survived. CCTV footage of the incident surfaced during the investigation.
Party Aftermath: Driver Causes Accident
The driver involved in the SG Highway accident fled but was caught eight days later based on CCTV evidence. The driver, identified as Param Uday Vora, was found intoxicated in CCTV footage from the night of the incident.
November 25: Drunk Driver Causes Chaos on Ambli-Bopal Road
Two days after the SG Highway accident, Riple Panchal, driving under the influence, caused havoc on the Ambli-Bopal Road. Riple, driving an Audi, hit seven to eight vehicles in a drunken state. Even amidst the chaos, he remained in the car, casually smoking a cigarette. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
December 2: Drunk Driver Kills Two on Naroda-Dehgam Road
On December 2, Gopal, driving a Creta under the influence, caused a fatal accident on Naroda-Dehgam Road. He recklessly hit an Activa, killing two young men on the spot. The car was speeding so uncontrollably that it jumped over stones placed on the divider, entered the opposite lane, and collided with the Activa.
