The Reserve Bank of India’s Governor, Shaktikanta Das, has been honored with the prestigious Global Finance Central Banker Report Card 2023 “A+” rating. In September, Shaktikanta Das received this recognition, and he shared the award-winning photo on his social media handle. Earlier, in June, Shaktikanta Das was awarded the “Governor of the Year” award in Central Banking 2023 by Global Finance magazine in London.

A+ Ratings Also Granted to Other Governors

In the annual Central Banker Report Card, the top-ranked governors are recognized for their strategic originality, creativity, and hard work in the context of their competitive peers. Apart from Das, Switzerland’s central bank governor J. Jordan and Vietnam’s governor L. Q. Hung also received A+ grades.

Participation of Over 101 Governors in the Report

The Central Bankers Report Card, published annually since 1994 by Global Finance, assesses governors from central banks in 101 countries, regions, and districts. It includes central bank governors from the European Union, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Bank of Central African States, and West African Central Bank, among others.

Global Finance magazine assigns ratings based on a scale from A to F, with “A” signifying outstanding performance and “F” indicating complete failure. Central bank governors who received an “A” grade include Brazil’s Roberto Campos Neto, Israel’s Amir Yaron, Mauritius’ Harvesh Kumar Seegolam, and New Zealand’s Adrian Orr. Governors receiving an “A-” grade included Colombia’s Leonardo Villar, Dominican Republic’s Hector Valdez Albizu, Iceland’s Asgeir Jonsson, and Indonesia’s Perry Warjiyo.
