He fell in love while working in a company in Los Angeles, and just when he was about to marry this woman, he had to return to India abruptly due to his grandmother’s declining health. Ratan believed that the woman he loved would come to India with him. 

However, as Ratan recounted, her parents were not in favor of her moving to India because of the India-China war, which ultimately led to the end of their relationship. Thus, their love story remained unfinished.
