Ratan Naval Tata, the Chairman of Tata Sons, passed away at the age of 86. He took his last breath late Wednesday night around 11 PM. He had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and was suffering from age-related ailments.
Industrialist Harsh Goenka First to Announce Ratan Tata’s Demise
Industrialist Harsh Goenka was the first to share the news of Ratan Tata’s demise. At 11:24 PM, he wrote on social media, “The ticking of the clock has stopped. Titan is no more. Ratan Tata was a symbol of honesty, moral leadership, and philanthropy.”
Ratan Tata’s Mortal Remains Moved to His Residence, Last Rites with State Honors
Around 2 AM, Ratan Tata’s mortal remains were taken from the hospital to his residence. His final rites will be conducted with state honors.
On Thursday, from 10 AM to 4 PM, his body will be kept at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) hall in South Mumbai, where people can pay their last respects.
Ratan Tata Denied ICU Admission News Days Before Passing
Just two days before his passing, on October 17, news surfaced that Ratan Tata, who had been honored with the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, was admitted to the ICU.
However, he personally denied these reports, stating that he was fine and had only gone to the hospital for a routine check-up.
