‘There Is No Evidence of Ram’s Existence…’: Another Leader’s Controversial Statement, BJP’s Retaliation
Tamil Nadu’s Sports Minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin faced nationwide condemnation for his controversial comments about Hinduism, and a court complaint was also filed against him. Now, another DMK leader from Tamil Nadu has made a controversial statement about Lord Ram.
On Friday (August 2), Tamil Nadu Minister SS Shivshankar claimed that there is no historical evidence to prove the existence of Lord Ram. Additionally, he compared Lord Ram with the Chola dynasty kings. The statement by the DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister has been widely criticized on social media.
DMK Leader SS Shivshankar’s Remarks on Lord Ram: A Controversy Unveiled
During a program organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of Rajendra Chola in Gangaikondacholapuram, Ariyalur district, DMK Minister SS Shivshankar made a controversial statement. He highlighted that while there are historical evidences like inscriptions, temples, and reservoirs created by the Chola dynasty, there is no evidence to substantiate the historical existence of Lord Ram.
He further claimed that despite people believing Lord Ram lived 3,000 years ago and considering him an avatar, avatars do not take birth. Therefore, if Ram is an avatar, he cannot be born, and if he was born, he cannot be considered a deity.
BJP’s Retaliation Against DMK Minister’s Comments
The DMK minister further stated that there are no life lessons in the Ramayana and Mahabharata, whereas the 2,000-year-old Tamil text Tirukkural by the saint-poet Thiruvalluvar contains many valuable life lessons.
In response, the BJP has launched a counter-attack. BJP state president Annamalai questioned the DMK’s respect for Lord Ram. Annamalai condemned the DMK leader’s controversial comments by sharing the minister’s remarks on the social media platform X. Additionally, the DMK leader is currently facing significant criticism on social media.
