Bomb Threats Target 10 Major Hotels in Rajkot Including Imperial Palace and Sayaji; Security Checks Underway

The series of bomb threats targeting domestic and international passenger flights across the country continues, and now, threats have started to target prominent hotels. An email threatening to bomb 10 hotels, including several 5-star hotels in Rajkot, has been received. 

Notable hotels such as Imperial Palace, Sayaji Hotel, Seasons Hotel, and Hotel Grand Regency, along with hotels frequented by cricketers, have all been named in the threatening message.

With the Diwali festival underway, this bomb threat has put the police on high alert. In addition to the 10 threatened hotels, law enforcement has conducted checks in other hotels around the city. As a precautionary measure, police inspections are ongoing in all major hotels in Rajkot to ensure public safety.

“I have placed bombs at every location in your hotel, and they will detonate in a few hours. Many innocent lives will be lost today. Act quickly and evacuate the hotel.”

Hotel Operations Resume After Thorough Inspection, Says Manager

Dushyant Mehta, the manager of Bhabha Hotel, reported, “At 12:45 p.m., we received an email with the subject ‘Bomb in the Hotel’ on our official email ID. As soon as we received it, we immediately informed the police department. 

Police teams quickly arrived and began a thorough inspection of the premises. After completing the checks, officials advised us to resume normal operations, stating that all necessary actions had been completed.”

Email Sent by Sender Named “Ken Din”

The threatening email, received at 12:45 p.m., was sent by someone named “Ken Din.” The message read: “I placed bombs in every location of your hotel. The bombs will go off in a few hours, and many innocent lives will be lost today. Hurry up and evacuate the hotel…” 

Following this, teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG), Crime Branch, Local Crime Branch (LCB), Police Control Branch (PCB), Bomb Squad, and respective police stations initiated inspections at the hotels. So far, no suspicious items have been found in any of the hotels.

Crime Branch Alerted Us About the Threat: PI

A-Division Police Inspector (PI) R.G. Barot stated, “We were alerted by the Crime Branch regarding this threatening email. The message mentioned a bomb threat for three hotels in our A-Division area—Bhabha Hotel, Jyoti Hotel, and Imperial Hotel. 

Currently, teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG), local police, and others are on-site conducting inspections to ensure safety.”
